Mr. Audax Rukonge

Mr. Audax Rukonge is the Executive Director of the Agricultural Non State Actors Forum (ANSAF) since 2013. A man passionate about agricultural transformation in Tanzania and beyond. Audax believes in huge potential within the sector, the role of smallholder producers, especially women and youth.

Audax treasures dialogue as critical moment to share evidence and use the same to influence practical policy solutions. In reaching wide audience, Mr Audax values the work on media fraternity as platforms on which duty bearers and rights-holders meet. Audax has worked for local and international organizations holding various responsibilities including governing Boards. He is involved in strategic thinking of the organization, including design, implementation, developing lessons from programme implementation using social learning approaches

Audax holds a Masters Degree in Development and International Cooperation (majoring in Social and Public Policy) from Jyväskylä University in Finland. He is a graduate from Sokoine University of Agriculture (BSc. Agriculture – majoring in agricultural economics). He has an Advance Diploma in Modern Management and Administration from Cambridge Tutorial College. Furthermore, he also holds certificates in Rural Management and Local Governance from the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA in India). 

He has authored and co-authored various books including Social Economic Impact of Transnational Corporations in Mining Sector. The Case of Mererani, Tanzania; Seeds for Growth: Financing Small Farming in Southern Africa (as a chapter contributor), and Impact Assessment: Experience from Mozambique (as a co-author – which is published in Finnish).

He has served on various advisory groups/ Boards within and outside the country, including Agricultural Policy and Research in Africa (APRA), BRAC Advisory Council, National Business Council as well as Policy Forum and many others
